I am a former teacher, certified to teach Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies for grades 4-8. I spent 4 years teaching 7th grade Language Arts, a STAAR Reading and Writing year. My students had a passing rate all 4 years of over 90%. I also taught the Reading Intervention class, where my students consistently made giant leaps in progress. I worked one-on-one and in small groups, helping them feel more confident in reading and writing, often passing the STAAR after failing previous years. I have experience tutoring middle and high school students, primarily in writing and critical reading, as well as the SAT verbal and writing sections. One of my former SAT students is now in law school.

Hobbies
I am a mother to a wonderful 15 month old boy who already loves books. I stopped teaching to be able to stay at home with him full-time. I loved my job. I was born to teach, but I wanted to spend this time teaching my own child while I can. My idea of a perfect day includes a latte and a good book. I am a big movie and TV buff and I enjoy cooking, baking, and learning new skills.
