Experience

You can learn so much when you learn a new language. You have to learn how to speak it, listen to it, read it, and write it. I have taught both French and Spanish for over ten years. I've found that the process of studying a new language can involve a few hiccups along the way. It could be the grammar or the comprehension when reading that causes a bit of a stumble in the overall learning process. I'm able to work with students on any aspect of learning a new language as my Ph.D. is in Spanish, and my B.A. is in French and Spanish. I also have teaching certificates from both Kentucky and Texas.I've also tutored students and new writers in the English subjects of grammar and mechanics, writing, and literature. I have even seen my own writing published as young adult novels, biographical works, translations, and short stories. I've also worked with students on extra prep time for AP exams. Each time I tutor, I adapt the session to the specific skills, levels, and needs of the student.  My non-writing time is used for swimming, playing backgammon, and reading. My family includes two cats, two dogs, and three grown children.
