Experience
I received my undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Criminal Justice and earned a Pre-Medical certificate from the University of Massachusetts. I am currently a Forensic Scientist, having received my master's degree in Forensic Science from Marshall University. I begin working with students while I was at Northeastern, where I taught Science courses to elementary students. I also worked with college students in individual and group settings on Biology and Chemistry. During my graduate studies at Marshall, I was a teacher's assistant for Forensic Science courses and led community events where students would hold "CSI Huntington" workshops. I believe this helped children build an interest in the science behind the shows. I currently tutor in Elementary and Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Chemistry, and Biology.I believe it is important for students to ask questions, as this helps students learn the concept as well as why it is important. I have seen the benefits of cognitive association and the power of utilizing visual aids, so I always try to incorporate this into my sessions. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my puppy, spending time with my friends, watching a good movie or TV show, and completing logic puzzles.
