I am located in Round Rock, TX. I am currently teaching my second year, formally; I had been working in classrooms for several years before. I attended UT Austin. This is where I got my bachelor's and master's degrees, in all-level (k-12) special education and learning disabilities/behavioral disorders, respectively. My favorite subject to tutor is math, but I can help with a variety of subjects. Seeing the way that math can be used in real-life situations is inspiring and exciting for me, especially when the student makes a new connection with the concepts. I believe that any student can and generally wants to learn. Observation of the student's individual interests and abilities is necessary in order to find a connection to the subject. Obtaining this information is necessary to choose a tutoring method that the student will respond to. Then the material can be tailored towards the student's specific needs. Besides math-related subjects, I can also tutor reading, writing, phonics, grammar and mechanics, American history, social studies, and many more. When I am not working, I like playing with my 2 dogs. I am training one to be a service dog. I also love watching football and collecting butterfly-related items.
