I am dedicated to helping children succeed academically and otherwise. I am an especially compassionate and successful tutor for children with special needs. Holding both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Psychology, I have dedicated many years of my professional career to this population in one form or another. I began my career working in the Content Mastery program in the Special Education Department of a an elementary school. In addition, I eventually moved to a combination position that also involved behavioral assistance in the Pre-K Special Needs classroom. Thus began years of working with these children in muti-faceted areas. In addition, I am the mother of a special little boy with Aspergers Disorder. I know the view from both the professional and parental sides. I tutor Regular Education students as well. I take the same amount of care and dedication with these students as I do with my Special Needs/Education students. I take great joy in helping a child to reach beyond their limitations and succeed. I gently challenge them to stretch themselves and, many times, I have even helped a child to turn a weakness into a strength that works in their favor. I believe in taking an individualized and creative approach to each student. Along the way I encourage them through setbacks and celebrate their successes with them. I don't believe there is any more rewarding job than this one and I feel blessed to be able to do it each day. For parents, I give frequent progress updates and always provide a listening ear for concerns or questions. I always offer a free 30 minute consultation to my parents before beginning the tutoring. I understand the trust and hope which you are placing in me with your child. I travel to your home so to be of the most convenience to you and your family. I look forward to partnering with you and your child on this journey to not just academic success but also life success!
